Be Happy...!

In a desperate search for something to read, I picked up my old Shakespeare plays. I decided to give Romeo&Juliet a second read. Its a wonderful book but to me its not romantic at all. I would not want to be in a relationship anything like theirs. My ideal is that love should make you want to live to the fullest, inspire you to be your best, and give you new perspective, whether or not the relationship works out. To me, Juliet did not become a better or happier person after meeting Romeo. Romeo would require his own post and it wouldn't be positive and so it will never be. I think romance is Michel Berger and France Gall. Their collaboration saved France's career and expanded Michel's. After their marriage, France Gall got involved in charity work. After Michel's death at 45, she still performs their songs for various charities. That's romantic.
To conclude, a video of France Gall and Michel Berger.Much thanks for reading. Many hugs and warm feelings. :)

  1. It makes me sad when people write this book isn't about romance. My boyfriend and my romance was much like this, as my parents thought at the 17/18/19 years old I should not have a boyfriend and put an insane amount of effort into trying to break us up, which included only letting me see him once a month, constant lectures on how immature and pathetic we were, etc. Having lived through this, I have to say it was much like being Romeo and Juliet, and its probably a frickin miracle our love survived it. I have a lot of sympathy and understanding for them, knowing how painful it can be to be in love and have no one understand. Also remember that a) in that time, getting married at 13 was totally legitimate b) it was about how the love between two young people bridged an ages long rift between families that the parents only continued to perpetuate. Also it wasn't like they planned all along to kill themselves. Juliet faked her death, and in a moment of horror, Romeo killed himself, thinking she was dead.

  2. hehe your blog is a delight :)
